Some classic Oliver updates – a very proud Dad one and a very funny one too. Enjoy.

In his Homework diary, Miss Atima, his school teacher wrote the following today;
“Hi Brian , I had a word with Ollie’s Mandarin teacher re his performance. She wants you to know that he is very bright and participates with enthusiasm in her classes. She said that he is at the “top end of his Mandarin class”. Hope you’re happy! Cheers from Atima”
Well done Ollie – Daddy is very very proud of you mate! See you are being a very good student.
Now to the funny. This is a Mary story that she sent me via SMS today, I just had to share it. So it goes like this, I was working late last night so Mary put him to bed and read him his book. Once she finished the book, they had a little play and then when she said good night he asked if Mary had a husband. She said no. He then said if I was as big as you I can recommend myself as your husband. But since I am still young I will recommend you somebody else but I won’t tell you for now.
Classic Ollie, you are so so funny. mary said you made her laugh a lot and she asked how this 7 year old boy thinks like this. You are a star Mr Kennett. You make us smile all the time.
Love you Mister – Daddy

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
