Amazing – Bintan revisited, this time with Miz. What a lovely time we had, we just love this place. Miz even said best holiday she’s had, as she’s never done the Asian tropical beach type holiday. We got two sea facing rooms next door to each other – Amy with Mary and I, and OllieRead More

Well OK not really fossicking & grubbing but fishing!  Jo, a good friend of mine, popped a wee note that her and the boys and Chris were off deep sea fishing. They’ve done it before and liked it so much they’re off again. A boat was booked with room for 10 and we have 2 ticketsRead More

True Blue

My great mate Mr Epps, Eppsy, Hippsy (bless him) made my day recently. An anonymous parcel arrives. In Singapore you have to write what the items inside are. So on the label it states kids books, memorabilia or something like that. So now I am even more “none the wiser” to what’s inside. What wasRead More

What a Sunday. Arranged with Adeline to swap Saturday and Sunday, yes Mary and I had an invitation for some “adult time”. What a fantastic time it was. Our friend who we met through Dave and Jacqui had invited us to Singapore Turf Club for Sunday racing. Oh yes indeed! He even gave us this delightful daysRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
