That’s your lot?
Nah, this is my Mum’s allotment!
Like a cottage industry in the making.
Food in abundance.
Colours and smells (yes that’s ‘compost’, or as we call it horse sh*t!) galore.
And clearly full of Filipino and child labour. Naughty Mummy!
One of those poor kids up to his waist in raspberry thorns, poor little lad, earning below minimum wage, covered in cuts and scratches, tired from over-working…
Look at this poor little mite.
Come on how old is she, this is just shocking.
Woken at 4am to come down to collect strawberries until her fingers bleed.
Look at the pain on her face.
“Ma’am I done found you another strawberry, does that mean I can eat tonight?”
Now to the poor Filipino worker.
Shading herself from the blistering heat, no water.
OMG and I have just noticed she is even pregnant – put to work in the fields when pregnant – my God who is this tyrant of a boss making these poor people work under such conditions?
Here she is.
Look at what the kids have gathered though – freshest strawberries and raspberries you could get.
Not a sniff of pesticide, even if there was you couldn’t smell it because of all the horse sh*t – ha ha!
Look she’s even dragged this poor guy out of retirement.
Clearly he can’t even stand without support.
And look at the shocking uniform she is making him wear.
When will this abuse stop?
OK OK I can sense you are bored of that nonsense now.
Here we go some just ‘normal’ photos and text now.
Here’s that Amy clearly very proud of her morning gathering fruit and veggies for Nanny.
Because ‘the old man’ is watering and camera ain’t waterproof – No1 son takes over and gets all arty.
Some of the things on the allotment.
Check out these flipping gooseberries.
Mary must have picked about 12lb and didn’t even make a dent.
More pretty flowers.
Marrows or call them corguettes if they are small.
Ever had the flowers (bottom left) stuffed with cheese, and deep fried in batter? Oh yeah baby!
Final shot – we finish out market gardening. Punnets and bags full.
Off to Nanny’s to prepare them for eating, going in to pies, going in to Eton Mess etc.
And what timing that was, as over came the clouds.
Our day was done!!!
