Not so much “Great Escape” – more “Search & Recovery”

Bit of a strange one this – a bit like “The Perfect Storm” – calm and then boom! Best laid plans fell over –  we no longer were to wait to collect from the airport in Singapore, but had to jump on planes to collect from Philippines, destination unknown. I won’t go into detail here, but amazinglyRead More

A lazy morning with me practising some new dishes for lunch and posting on the blog. Went well, recreating a VERY famous local dish – but check the other site for that of course. In the afternoon one Jude had slept off we go to Dani and Simon’s for a late lunch, a Skype toRead More

OMG – what happened. I can’t even now have fun saying just switch the number on the candles round, as that would now be 54. It was my birthday. A birthday started at a rather early time – almost dawn chorus, with Amy and Ollie singing to the top of their lungs “Happy Birthday” forRead More

My baby girl turned 5 today – oh my goodness. So with much planning – almost military grade, we organised a party for her and and her school mates, along with Ollie and a couple of his ‘keep him company’ pals. I think it went very very well. Thanks to my Mary and Ollie for helping with organisingRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
