Yet again my lovely boy Oliver has amazed me. I was speaking (via SMS) to his teacher, Miss Atima, to make sure all was OK with him at school and with his homework. He has a disco tonight so wanted to make sure he was OK.

I receive the following back from Atima, which has just made me smile, thank you so much Ollie.
“He’s doing fine. Don’t worry. He’s a great guy. We were reading about fruit and nuts, when we heard thunder and he said maybe it’s my Mum breaking nuts in the sky. Or she’s getting cross at someone up there. He’s just great.”
Daddy is so very proud and loves you so very much, and Mummy and Amy do absolutely as well.

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
