Wednesday, in fact day No.3 in UK and off we go to Broadstairs for the day – family K with DKHNY and Claire. Do you know of Broadstairs? It’s part of The Isle of Thanet where Margate is also. It, like Margate, is approximately 80 miles from London. Did you know it is known asRead More

Pop Up means many things – in this case it is indeed book related, and more importantly Micro Brewery related – woo hoo

Walking around Margate, and taking trips to the countryside this trip it seems that the pub industry is decimated. So many boarded up and closed down establishments. Places you would never think would or could go under, but Mum says no one has the money to spend to go out now and supermarkets are pumpingRead More

1st up – yep it’s John’s turn. I seriously cannot remember my last time at Jon and Jan’s – I really can’t. But on walking in I do remember loads of memories of me and Nikki playing there, the hiding places behind the bed, hiding behind the sofa and so on. But off we wentRead More

Gather up ye families of Kennett and Silvester and let’s have a Hey Nonny Noo and go exploring in the country-side. Off to The Plough, a beautiful place, built just outside Teynham, Kent in 1350. That’s not too bad is it – two trips in 2 weeks to two pubs nearly 700 years old aRead More

Eat your heart out JR. This place could have herds of wilderbeast and gazelle galloping across the plains, of what is Brownie’s back-garden. More of that in a minute! So plan was we meet for a wee BBQ to get Brown, Edmonds and Kennett families all together as we did the last time we wereRead More

Timing is clearly everything – as with sun out of of course everything looks and feels so much better. We have not been disappointed on this trip to UK, and of course my Mum’s back garden. Like a trip to Kew Gardens in London, or Botanical Gardens in Singapore. Beautiful varieties on show in theRead More

OMG – what happened. I can’t even now have fun saying just switch the number on the candles round, as that would now be 54. It was my birthday. A birthday started at a rather early time – almost dawn chorus, with Amy and Ollie singing to the top of their lungs “Happy Birthday” forRead More

Now to explain first this is going to be quite tough as I would love to share this experience actually across two blogs. I know most of you know I have family and food blogs running concurrently. Actually I now have three. I have sort of stopped the old food blog and started afresh atRead More

What a crazy work day. It started out with ‘Parent Party Day’ at Am’s School. How fun was this. All in colour coded teams for the school year. K1’s in blue as you can see. A morning of fun, games, singing, dancing. Here’s some more. This was the big introduction to the parents of theRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
