My baby girl turned 5 today – oh my goodness. So with much planning – almost military grade, we organised a party for her and and her school mates, along with Ollie and a couple of his ‘keep him company’ pals. I think it went very very well. Thanks to my Mary and Ollie forRead More

“There’s canvases in them there hills…” That’s my cry. Why…? Well because Mr and Mrs Totton took me and family Kennett to Fort Canning this Saturday morning. Armed with cameras. Bottles of water. A change of clothes. And at the end of the session, 6 very sweaty bodies. It was our new photo shoot. SomethingRead More

Bit of a strange one this – a bit like “The Perfect Storm” – calm and then boom! Best laid plans fell over –  we no longer were to wait to collect from the airport in Singapore, but had to jump on planes to collect from Philippines, destination unknown. I won’t go into detail here,Read More

Yet another “Great Escape” kicks in to action tomorrow midday Singapore time. Only Mary and Amy are doing the “digging” this time, and will go back to Philippines to kill about 18 birds with one stone.  Amy was just desperate to go back with Mary and see Mary’s kids and the monkey of course, andRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
