Langkawi 2019 day #1 – #workisover-rated
Langkawi 2019 day #1 – #workisover-rated becomes my last bit of RnR with the family before I officially start work again on 29/7. I have had a month of ‘garden-leave’ and 3 weeks of paid retrenchment to enjoy. But I have been busy. I have been job-hunting, interviewing, researching, start-up advising, dating my wifey for lunches (see other posts on islifearecipe.net), doing school runs for Jude, and just seeing the kids. It has been delightful. A big thank you to Telstra.
So the thought was let’s have some fun before I jump back on the never-ending treadmill again. So we booked lastminute.com to come to Langkawi a little favourite of ours. Sorry to #1 son who had to stay home again for school – last few months so critical. We took guidance for some new things to do from mates, read next blogs, and stayed at a new location for variety. For Langkawi 2019 day #1 – #workisover-rated we stayed at The Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort. What a cracker. The 1.5-hour flight and 15-minute transfer from the airport to the hotel is a winner for me. We flew at 1055 and were eating lunch in the hotel at 1330. Yeah, baby.
So this hotel is like a Kampong. It is stunning. Individual detached ‘houses’ over one and two floors arranged all randomly (s0 it seems), with two lakes, two pools, two restaurants, a kids fun pool/playground, and beach fronts all over. It even has an animal farm with feeding and petting. Easy walk down the beach too to many other restaurants and the like – read more blogs for that experience later as this is just day #1 and we are staying in today. This place is getting major Kennett family thumbs up. We ended up with a wee upgrade to a family beach-front room – awesome – massive King, a double and a bonkers sofa bed. HUGE. Loving it.
Shall we have a look-see?
And there is our day #1. Phew, what a bust day bearing in mind it started at 1055am. Langkawi 2019 day #1 – #workisover-rated was a cracker for us as a return to a place we loved but with a new home on it. Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort is just a belter of a location to stay. It is just so close to everything as we found out and will find out more I am sure. If you happen to frequent here sometime soon I would say it is one to look at seriously, and families have a good look at those family beach-front rooms – perfect for a family of four. You know how hard it is to find family rooms that are cool without having them on the floor or having the additional $$$ of another room cost. We had a blast on day #1. Thanks, Langkawi for the RnR. Much needed. We will be back again, well tomorrow in fact. If you like this blog, copy us you will – ENJOY!!!
