Kennett family showing off the entrance to our little chalet for the next 5 days and 4 nights. Loving it, loving it. Surrounded by nature, literally. It’s a stilted house. Look at the panels and the windows, it’s stunning. My kind of heaven. I think we all like it here. OK let’s find those swimming pools!!!

But before that let’s have a few snaps at the front of our gaff. Lower floor to the left is ours. It’s almost like someone sprayed a blue circle on the grass for the ideal family ‘photo-shot’ next to the room… Good work Meritus.

OK, OK wifey was desperate too to get in the ‘house’ shot, and Jude goes sprinting too as he could not resist another chance. Such a lovely place. I will get a snap of the inside when the place has just been made up so you can see how cool the family rooms are. Just brilliant Meritus and affordable guys on the $$$.

On the way let’s have a few posed photos of the gorgeous Malay island we are staying on for the next few days. Amy, Jude and some random Boy Scout that seems to have joined us now…

Yeah, that works!!! Apparently, a few minutes down this beach and you hit some of the best restaurants in Langkawi (read on later blogs) and also things like Underwater World. Good location too it seems as well as being bloody stunning.

Dino-Pool time – weeeeee!!! For once, the daughter remembers her water-proof camera and spends the entire day keeping it dry… You can’t make it up!!!

It’s a little ‘tired’ as you can see from the ‘new’ tiles they have thrown over those in need of repair, but it works. It’s cool. This see-saw is uber cool. Whoever goes up squirts the other on the down. Yeap, my two loved it. As you can see. Happy days. Wifey and I are now just sort of sitting around thumb-twiddling. Hmmm, what to do???

Some noisiness from the sky for a while and this little thing goes a buzzing in by. Yeah, that is pretty cool. Will we have time? I also looked at the helicopter rides just down the road. Ooooohhhh – could we???

“Oh no Dad, the naughty dinosaur is shaking his tail and I am scared…” Said Jude, laughing inside…

There’s even the huge water bucket dump thing every two minutes which the gang loved of course. They hate showering but love this… and the difference is…???

Action time. Now a few practice runs on the slide are over it is time for adventure and thrills and excitement said, Jude. He also said that it helps if you shut your eyes.

It must be catching as the daughter does exactly the same. If I can’t see it, it can’t scare me – method of life… “Ahahahahahahahahahahahh I looked…..”

It’s father-small-son time. Sorry father-rather-large-11-year-old-daughter time has long since gone Amy. I think I’d break a wrist trying to throw you now. But Jude is still – weeeeeeeeeeeeee material!!!

Just the two of us… NOT! Bombed by the 5-year-old continually!!! Phot-shopped out a wet-floor sign, next time it’s Jude’s turn!

There is even a snap from the 5-year-old included. This is Amy saying; “NO, Jude don’t put your finger over the lens…” Whilst the wife and I clearly didn’t even know he was taking a photo in the 1st place.

Pool #1 done to the hilt so let’s go look for pool #2 and the swim-up bar as we are all gasping for ‘fuel’ in different styles of liquid. And on the way, we get to experience the lakes in the complex. See what I mean about this place? It’s stunning everywhere you go. Look at the lake fronted places, lovely with mosquito spray and shit loads of it I would say!

We just saw the Lion King Favreau film version and Amy is clearly auditioning for the stage performance as Simba. Check that mane out!

Play it forward. Showers and all that done and we decide to try the beach-front restaurant in the hotel. Here we come Cba.  Be prepared as you have major 51, 41, 11 and 5-year-old food critics on their way.

I am liking this, I am liking this. And tomorrow morning we have breakfast here too. Live music from 2000 too. “Hi, can we sit on the beach for dinner please?” “Of course you can Sir… come this way…”

About to order and a quick family snap on the sofa on the beach. Best TV on the planet in front of us – a sea, a beach, a sunset… Wonder what the food is going to be like?

And reverse shot. Yeah not a bad little view for tonight’s dining experience is it?

The orange glow starts to kick in as that sun gradually starts to fade away. Only 1.5 hours away and we still sit here at 1945 and it is not really dark yet. Crazy. Pitch black by now in Singapore. I like dinners in places like this. Toes in the sand (nearly). Best ever food.

Daughter clearly enjoying herself. The phone is only in her hand so she can gather geo co-ordinates for tomorrows trip to the mountain. NOT!!! V-sign!!!

BOOM!!! The food comes out. Well, mine anyways. A slightly confusing dish, but absolutely bloody brilliant. Wagyu Burger. But it comes with a roast potato with sour cream, stunning! Some blue cheese, gorgeous but why? A little side serve of some capsicum and grilled salami, nice but again not sure why. Cracking salad to boot with it. The burger was top-notch. Meaty as, and so juicy flavourful. A really nice sauce, cheese, mushroom, salad and bun. It was ACE. I’d have this again in a heartbeat. Although Meritus I am still slightly confused with the additions. Just a tad ‘random’. The burger is a winner all on her own!!! Keep the potato and blue cheese on same little add-on plate and winner!!!

OK, not so good on the lamb rack review from the wife. Fatty and chewy was the verdict, despite it being really tasty. Sorry, Meritus it is what it is. Jude ate a load of this and didn’t say much for an age. I think his jaw was tired ha ha. It was really nice on reflection of flavour, just seriously on the chewy fatty on the textured side guys. To be really honest for the $$$ it cost I would have expected a wee bit better – to caveat not flavour, just not so fatty.
