I had a truly amazing day, celebrating alongside Charlie’s 2nd birthday, then swimming pool with Gordon/Thes/Steve and of course my Mary and the kids. Great fun. Mabini Fiesta Time, Bohol, Philippines

May 19, 2012

Mabini: It’s happened again. One of those life moments that doesn’t happen too often. I know Mary and her family won’t mind me writing this with honesty, because it truly has been one of those occasions where you see life from a different perspective, the Mabini perspective. We’ve been in the Philippines a few timesRead More

Anda, Bohol – TRUE paradise found

May 19, 2012
[zilla_likes]

I’ll start with the word to sum this whole experience up – BREATHTAKING! We stayed at the most amazing place in Bohol –  Anda.  Anda is like a biscuit that someone has taken loads of bites out of. Small beach-fronts, private beach fronts, white sandy beaches, coral, topaz sea, topaz sky. Mary’s Mum had hadRead More

My mate Moy Moy

Mary’s family have a pet monkey called Moy Moy. An aggressive little bugger, very territorial and hater of women it seems. So when you first meet him he’s all screeching and jumping off his pole, trying to bite (in fact he did bite Mary), trying to scratch.  Nasty little shit thought I. But look atRead More

Amazing – Bintan revisited, this time with Miz. What a lovely time we had, we just love this place. Miz even said best holiday she’s had, as she’s never done the Asian tropical beach type holiday. We got two sea facing rooms next door to each other – Amy with Mary and I, and OllieRead More

Well OK not really fossicking & grubbing but fishing! Jo, a good friend of mine, popped a wee note that her and the boys and Chris were off deep sea fishing. They’ve done it before and liked it so much they’re off again. A boat was booked with room for 10 and we have 2Read More

Well having the two kids means a great deal of birthday invites. Here’s another one for us this weekend, with an invite to our good friends Keith and Adeline, and baby Francesca’s 1st birthday – how cute is this! Here she is, such a big girl now, sitting up, crawling round – Mary and IRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
