Well here we go imagine the closing song; http://www.televisiontunes.com/Stingray_-_Closing_Titles_-_Aqua_Marina.html “Marina, beautiful Marina, whatever are these strange enchantments whenever you’re near ……….” Here is my little Marina, is it a bird, is it a fish ………??? No eating in the pool please Uncle Darren. What you mean, I’m justRead More

Mine and Ollie’s first day in Cambodia

October 23, 2012
[zilla_likes]

Ollie and I decided to book SilkAir/SilkAir so ended up pretty much with whole day to ourselves in Phnom Penh as the other guys in the end didn’t arrive until approximately 5pm. So what did we do, Ollie and I, on that VERY hot 35 degree day in Phnom Penh. Hmmm perhaps best to sayRead More

Quite a sad on this, but also with some humour

After football at the orphanage we stopped on the way back for a river trip to see Kompong Chhang. This is a floating village, literally loads of little houseboats glued together in a marshy river system on the lake of Tonle Sap. It’s about 90km or so from Phnom Penh. Interesting is that most ofRead More

So to the last day. I promise I will go to the first day. A day that was literally a mixed bag of all-sorts. We started with a breakfast again overlooking the beautiful Meekong RIver, a lovely light and breezy start to a great great day. Next as a gang we departed to see theRead More

It kind of does not get much better with a breakfast view than this does it? Look at this. 6 stories up staring at this, the Meekong River, over a boiled egg this morning. What a breakfast.  I could watch this all day long. But coffees/breakfast and kit handouts. Mr Josh bless gave Ollie numberRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
