Of course we went to see my Darling Nina. Still it is just a piece of stone, with some grass, and some flowers and an old photo. It was lovely to ‘see’ her and have some long chats with Amy about Mummy Nina – that meant a great deal to me. Thanks to my MaryRead More

Day 1 Amy the lion tamer in DK’s back garden. Whipping poor little Twiglet. Ollie turns up to watch – whip her harder Amy. DK from RSPCA turns up and sorts them out. Looks like a game of ‘what’s the time Mr Wolf’. Snack time – and indeed it was as Claire had laid onRead More

That’s your lot? Nah, this is my Mum’s allotment! Like a cottage industry in the making. Food in abundance. Colours and smells (yes that’s ‘compost’, or as we call it horse sh*t!) galore. And clearly full of Filipino and child labour. Naughty Mummy! One of those poor kids up to his waist in raspberry thorns,Read More

OK OK I know some will love and some will hate this one. Also slightly out of order or proceedings of our London trip – but it’s a ‘quickie’. I am reaching a back-log of the UK trip as we did so much and therefore so much to share. We went to show Ollie StamfordRead More

My great mate, that I just happened to be with last week in UK whilst on holiday, popped me an SMS. Thanks Brownie. Guess why? Yes – TWENTY THOUSAND PLUS views now of my blog. It is just amazing to think back to when I started this – sad times. Now to family times, andRead More

Dover – about 30 years on for me – have to say it was indeed very impressive…

Daddy-pedia time! Dover stands at the narrowest part of the English Channel, next stop France. Remember the Vera Lynne wartime song; “They’ll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover…” Yep that’s this place, I think referring to The Battle of Britain and our returning heroes of the time. Much history is here too asRead More

Beautiful Nanny – just beautiful.  A picture paints a thousand words and all that, so really I can shut up for this one (for once I hear you saying!). Just enjoy the flowers from a sunny Garden of England garden! Do you want a little history on Westgate? Hmmm tell you what, I don’t care,Read More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
