She can write her own name now! OK first attempt was a little back to front but you get the idea, and then hey presto – check this out!!!!! This was a week or so ago, so bookmark that date. I think she is very proud of herself. I certainly am – well done Amy.Read More

Another weekend, another birthday. Todays was Lizzy, the 4 year old daughter of our good mates Dave and Jacqui. A lovely birthday at “The Playhouse”. Somewhere I have not been for an absolute age. So it was great to see them again, and have fun with the kids in tow. It’s located on Rochester Park,Read More

Another lovely fun packed week and weekend

Wow a busy one. I take Amy to school wearing shorts, t-shirt, tattoos showing, thongs and maybe a slight hint of Australian accent. Ms Pat approaches me and explains that she’s teaching the kids re balance and surfing, then asks; “Could you come in and present to the kids on surfing?” I’m like; “Eh, sorryRead More

Another fantastic weekend just came and went. Saturday had Rosie’s birthday poolside in Condo Costa Rhu, a panicky one as it had been pouring literally all day up to the afternoon. So so lucky as it stopped just long enough for the kids to have the party before raining again. Check out all these kids,Read More

OK – more insight to family Kennett weekend, Singapore style. Up early Saturday am to go shopping, Daddy got some bonus, so a treat was in order. We went to Vivo City about 9am to have breakfast (junk food – oh yeah baby) and to play on the roof top. Little known fact, if youRead More

How cool was this. Gordon and Thes said guys if you’re interested there is a basketball game between Philippines and Singapore at the indoor stadium, fancy coming to watch? So so glad we did. For the royal sum of 19SGD a head, we end up about 5 rows from the court itself and had justRead More

As I said in Marlon’s blog, I have not done this for a while re showing some of the surrounding scenery, so be atop the flier is a perfect way to do that! Here’s a pretty artsy, filtered snap from the 1st floor, we’re about to “board” our pod and start the hour long revolutionRead More

Mary’s brother lives about 2 hours flight away in Brunei, sort of “in” Malaysia and one of the world’s richest countries. He took some leave and came to stay with us. Despite leaving him at the airport for an hour on his own walking around (Mary got the times of the arrival wrong!) he wasRead More

Hi every one, here is a couple of random snaps of Amy here, both related to her new school. So #1 is a new hat she had to make at school with her name on it, and as you can see she was very proud of this one. So much so she was even wearingRead More

She calls our name and we come running, We have lost the voice we listened to, And there's a stillness now the rains stopped falling, And there's a sadness like we never knew, But we still see the shining of things. We love and miss you desperately Ni.

About Brian

I have worked in Telecommunications pretty much all my life, with good fortune to have worked literally across the world with amazing colleagues and clients from Sao Paulo, to Chicago, to LA, to UK, Europe and most recently to South East Asia and Australia.

I love to cook and to write and again for many years now have been writing a food blog, constantly morphing. I have also written a cook book for charitable reasons. I now also write a column for EXMag.sg a men's magazine with a focus on food - recipes and reviews. I do this under the tag-name of Semi-Naked Chef.

I am very focused at charitable work and CSR - having visited Cambodia 6 years running now to build houses on stilts for the less fortunate people there.

I have 3 kids - 2 half-Japanese and 1 half-Filipino.
